2026 Executive Board
Gareth Shumack, President

Gareth aka “Shui” is originally from Wales in the UK and has made Greenlawn his home since 2020. He lives with his spouse and better half Jacque, a Greenlawn resident for most of her life, his three school aged children, dog and cat. Shui works in higher education as a student affairs professional and has also taught at local universities. Shui holds a PhD in social work and a Masters degree in Psychology from Adelphi University as well as an MBA from Wagner College. He is looking forward to serving the GCA to continue our traditions and support our community.
Marla Hamilton, Secretary

Marla moved to Greenlawn with her husband and three sons eight years ago, and they all fell in love with our supportive, warm community. She works as a psychotherapist for a private practice. Marla has enjoyed being a member of the GCA and is happy to support the events and initiatives that help our town to thrive as secretary.
Jane Irving, Member-at-Large

Jane has been a member of the community for over 40 years. She has been involved with the GCA since 2014 helping with various projects and has held several different positions within the GCA. She and her husband have raised 2 children through the Harborfields School District.

Robert Wappel, Vice President

Bob grew up and went to college in the suburbs of Chicago, where he learned the value of hard work and community. He married a Long Island native who (after 15 years) convinced him to move to Long Island. After living in Dix Hills and Huntington, they moved to Greenlawn in 2018, and are so lucky they did! Bob is passionate about being involved in the GCA and believes that strong communities are built by neighbors who care. He believes that the Civic Association makes Greenlawn an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. Bob is grateful to be part of such a welcoming community and is truly proud to call Greenlawn home.
Tracy Tasch, Treasurer

Tracy grew up in Farmingdale, attended SUNY Albany for college, and then spent 10+ years living in Kew Gardens. She returned to Long Island with her family and wanted a nice community with great schools - that's how she ended up in Greenlawn! She has been licensed as a CPA in NY for almost 20 years, and is excited to volunteer her skills while also learning about the new community that her family has joined. She looks forward to many years of service with the GCA and community as a whole.
